The United States successfully shoots down disabled spy satellite full of highly toxic Hydrazine fuel. The rocket blew up the satellite shattering it into thousands of pieces no bigger then a toaster oven. The wreckage is to set to burn up in the atmosphere above Canada in the next few days.

Rechargeable Lithium Battery Powered Street Car

A streetcar that recharges itself during breaking, eliminates the overhead wires commonly found on modern streetcars. This technology could improve and eliminate some barriers from streetcar’s in modern city public transportation.
The Railway Technical Research Institute in Kokubunji, Tokyo, has developed a streetcar powered by a lithium battery that can recharge in under a minute. The institute will start conducting test runs in Sapporo at the end of November to check the streetcar’s capacity. Powered by the onboard battery, the vehicle runs at a maximum speed of 40 kph for 15 kilometers and is capable of converting 70 percent of its deceleration energy into electricity, which it sends back to the battery. The rest of the power is supplied by recharging stations, where the streetcar connects its pantograph to overhead wires.

A contest to get Windows XP running on a Mac has been won. Colin Nederkoorn contest coordinator announced today that hackers “narf2006†and “blanka†have successfully duel booted Windows XP and OSX. The announcement has came days after speculation that the contest was successfully won. Colin Nederkoorn created the contest which has raised $13,854 in donations to anyone who successfully gets Windows XP running on a Mac without any type of emulation. With this successfully hack it allows Windows users to take advantage of the mac hardware and Mac users with the ability to run Windows applications. This breakthrough gives users what they wanted for a long time. To bad greedy companies don’t just give the consumer what they want.
